We would like to share with you the special deals we have just launched for the off season and North Sumatra adventures in June, July and August 2020.

Down season in the Mentawai Islands / Indian Ocean happens during Monsoon (rainy season) between November and April. Swell keeps coming, smaller, low pressures position themselves further south, sending very big interval, sometimes more perfect, groomed waves. The Mentawai´s gorge on spots that catch the smallest swells, winds are generally lighter making for easy navigation and wave options. Of course, there´s much less people in the water. We´ve shared many blissfull sessions with our guests during this period along the 23 years we´ve been surfing, the 18 years we´ve been charting the archipiélago. Being the only boat out, knowing nobody else is going to show up, makes you feel back in the 90s´…

North Sumatra adventures…

 

During prime season, we want to offer our guests the possibility of surfing less crowded and reknown spots. KM1 will be charting Northern Sumatra between June, July and August. Once you get past Latitud 0, north of Telos, you will find amazing locations you would have never imagined, ideal if you want to enjoy quiet surfs in spots you´ve never heard of. There is a great variety of waves, in fantastic set ups and mind blowing backdrops.

 

KM1 will be anchored in Northern Nias. You will need to fly out to Gunung Sitoli (Nias). There are 8 daily flights (50 min.) operated by Garuda Indonesia and Lion Air departing Medan (north Sumatra). Our crew will pick you up in the Airport, after a 2 hour drive arriving to the port of departure. The nearest spot is only 6 hour navigation, so you will wake up first light ready to surf. Last day same same, surf, navigate and fly out.
